Escape From New York...

...if you can!!!

By Jonathan Stempel

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A federal judge ruled on Friday that police had a constitutional right to randomly search passengers' bags on the New York City subway to deter terrorist attacks.

Uh...right. I can't find police powers discussed anywhere in the constitution. And the police, being an organization, have no rights, only individuals have rights (that is correct kiddies, there are no such thing as state rights, either).

Don't 'cha just love federal judges making decisions on constitutionality when they haven't even read the thing!

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Anybody see any exceptions for New York City?

And don't give me that "We live in different times today" crap. Hell, the people who started this country would be called terrorists today. Principles don't change...unless you are unprincipled...then the sky is the limit.

"That no free government, or the blessing of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue, and by frequent recurrence to fundamental principles."
-- George Mason, the Virginia Declaration of Rights, 1776

"Whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force."
-- Thomas Jefferson, Draft Kentucky Resolutions, 1798. The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, (Memorial Edition) Lipscomb and Bergh, editors, ME 17:380

We need to codify this stuff. How about an amendment stating "Any urban center with a population density greater than 150,000/square mile should be a 'no rights' zone." At least be up-front about it.

Hell, we'll have everybody heading for the hills (our hills) if we do that. I think that if they can't recognize when they are being violated, they are prime candidates for darwin awards (post-humously, if necessary).

Thanks for dropping by.

When I first read of this ruling I was sadly not surprised. I have given up hope in the court system.

Hey David. I have a small request. The gov. has decided to stop reporting the M3 supply? Do you have a good reference on it and why it is so bad?

Here's another one on M3:

“The annual deficit is around $700 billion. The value of the "official" U.S. gold hoard of 261 million oz., at $440/oz. is only a mere $115 billion.

GM will soon be a $300 billion dollar blow-up! Imagine the financial chaos as a pile of wealth almost three times larger than the current value of the U.S. "official" gold hoard evaporates!

If the government can't sell bonds while running a deficit, then the government must simply be printing money to fund the deficit--and they are, as can be seen in the rate of growth of the money supply, M3!

Germany's hyperinflation in the 1930's took about a year and a half. Recently, Argentina's took place nearly overnight. Who knows which way the dollar will die, whether a quick death, or a more slow and painful one?

Either way, the dollar is dead.”

No wonder they don’t want to publish M3!

Hi Ron and Gunner,

While the fed will stop reporting M3, they will still be reporting the constuent parts of it. Market analysts will provide the M3 as part of their findings.

This is just smoke and mirrors. But, we have all the tools necessary to see through it. My concern is about the people who don't see the fraud and are unwilling to challenge mis-information. They will be eaten alive by this economy when it fails.
